In most research areas, when drastically reducing the physical size of the system, exotic and very useful phenomena may occur. The area of solid state energy devices e.g. batteries, is definitely not an exception. In this project we aim to investigate how nano-structuring can improve the performance of the final energy device. In addition we aim to understand how high-temperature ion diffusion is linked and potentially governs low-temperature fundamental magnetic properties in the very same materials.
